Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo seeks a Tech/MLT to perform waived and non-waived analyses of patient specimens under supervision, aligning with CAP/CLIA/JCAHO standards and department policies.

You will participate in quality control, instrument maintenance, safety programs, and performance improvement efforts within the Department of Clinical Laboratory Services.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Associate degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science preferred.
• Minimum Work Experience: One year experience preferred.
• Certifications: ASCP, AMT, and/or NCA preferred or eligible.
• Technicians newly certified as of 2004, must participate in Certification Maintenance Program every 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and non-waived complexity analysis of patient specimens for diagnostic purposes.
• Assists in policy and procedure review, revision, and maintenance.
• Monitors quality control data and instrument maintenance.
• Participates in safety programs and performance improvement.
• Supports department and hospital integration within the system.

Education

Associate degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science

ASCP, AMT, and/or NCA certification preferred or eligible
