Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team. You will perform routine to advanced lab procedures across body fluids, maintain competencies, and ensure accurate results while following safety and infection control policies.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and records staff to ensure continuity of patient care and participate in quality control and proficiency testing, all while upholding ethical standards and

Qualifications

• Associates Degreed in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Must possess MLT certification, or be eligible to sit for MLT exam. ASCP certification within 180 days of hire.
• Preferred: 1 year clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids.
• Maintain required competencies in all departments assigned and ensure accuracy of results.
• Observe patient safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Perform quality control and CAP proficiency testing.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and medical records to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Uphold professional standards and contribute to performance improvement on the unit.
