***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide medical services at the scope and level of a Laboratory Technician to maintain the health of employees and client personnel.
  2. Identify nosocomial infections and differentiate them from community-acquired infections.
  3. Perform proper patient identification procedures.
  4. Perform phlebotomy, including pediatric phlebotomy, and handle blood specimens.
  5. Conduct tests such as blunt abdominal trauma testing, urine drug screening, pulmonary function tests, hearing tests, and vision and color testing.
  6. Perform routine laboratory procedures, including quality control, and accurately record results.
  7. Follow all laboratory protocols and federal regulations.
  8. Set up and operate lab equipment, perform maintenance, calibration, sample processing, and labeling.
  9. Maintain a safe work environment following safety policies.
  10. Record and maintain patient information according to protocols and the Privacy Act.
  11. Keep the work area clean and organized.
  12. Respond to inquiries using knowledge of policies and procedures, safeguarding information (HIPAA, PHI, PII), and maintaining confidentiality.
  13. Uphold professionalism, ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality of all proprietary information and communications.
  14. Perform duties safely and in accordance with safety policies.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned in line with contract requirements.
Qualifications:
  1. Graduated from an accredited school for Laboratory Technician.
  2. Skilled in obtaining body fluids, tissues, and other specimens.
  3. Experience in accurate laboratory testing and understanding causes of discrepant results.
  4. Knowledge of testing principles and specimen handling.
  5. Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and communicate effectively.
  6. Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
  7. Ability to work in a high-paced, stressful environment without physical limitations.
  8. Flexibility to adapt to shift changes based on operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Associate or bachelor's degree in Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields.
  2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  3. Chain of custody urine drug screening certification.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  1. Walking, standing, or sitting for up to 10-12 hours daily.
  2. May involve bending, stooping, and lifting for patient care and transport.
