***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide medical services at the level of a Laboratory Technician to maintain the health of employees and clients.
  2. Identify nosocomial infections and distinguish them from community-acquired infections.
  3. Perform proper patient identification procedures.
  4. Conduct phlebotomy, including pediatric testing, and handle blood specimens.
  5. Perform tests such as blunt abdominal trauma testing, urine drug screening, pulmonary function, hearing, and vision tests.
  6. Carry out routine laboratory procedures, including quality control and accurate result entry.
  7. Follow all laboratory protocols and federal laws governing labs.
  8. Set up and maintain lab equipment, calibrate devices, process samples, and label specimens.
  9. Operate lab equipment safely and perform maintenance as needed.
  10. Record and maintain patient information in compliance with protocols and the Privacy Act.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  12. Respond to inquiries using knowledge of policies and safeguarding information (HIPAA, PHI, PII), maintaining confidentiality.
  13. Uphold professionalism, ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality in all communications and documentation.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contract requirements.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Laboratory Technician program.
  • Skilled in obtaining body fluids, tissues, and specimens.
  • Experience with accurate laboratory testing and understanding causes of discrepant results.
  • Knowledge of testing principles for routine tests.
  • Understanding of specimen handling, collection techniques, and lab workflow.
  • Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, stay organized, and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, stressful environment without physical limitations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to sudden changes and shift requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related sciences.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Chain of custody urine drug screening certification.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for 10-12 hours daily.
  • Prolonged sitting and standing required.
  • May involve bending, stooping, and lifting for patient care and transport.
