Job summary

HRRMC in Salida, CO is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or MT to join the hospital lab.

This night-shift role offers a $4,300 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. Candidates with ASCP, NCA, or AMT certification are encouraged to apply.

You'll perform tests across departments, maintain quality control, and report results accurately while supporting supervision when needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (Chemical or Biological Sciences) or an accredited MLT program.
• Two years of experience preferred but not required.
• Certification such as ASCP, NCA, or AMT is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient testing across all lab departments following established protocols.
• Maintain quality control and preventive maintenance on lab instruments.
• Accurately document and report patient test results, including critical values.
• Collect and process specimens per prescribed guidelines; ensure safety and compliance.
• Assist with supervisory duties under the laboratory supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE for MLT

Minimum of Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician (Chemical or Biological Sciences) or Medical Laboratory technician from an accredited institution. Two years’ experience , but not required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS for MLT

• Your Role: As an essential part of our laboratory team, you will:
• Conduct patient testing across all laboratory departments, adhering to established protocols.

• Specimen Collection & Clerical Duties:
• Collect and prepare specimens following prescribed guidelines, ensuring patient comfort and understanding.
• Accession, label, and distribute specimens to appropriate lab departments.
• Manage billing forms, lab requisitions, and patient records with accuracy.
• Use computer systems for data input, storage, and retrieval.
