Nu Diagnostics is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT/CLT) to provide diagnostic testing services for a newly-established laboratory in Steamboat Springs, CO. This is a full-time position with consistent hours and a structured schedule change policy to ensure a balanced work-life environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Apply comprehensive knowledge of laboratory practices, quality control, and quality assurance principles to support accurate and reliable diagnostic results.
Use independent judgment to analyze and interpret test results, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; perform routine maintenance and resolve instrument malfunctions.
Monitor and document the functionality of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal operation.
Evaluate and resolve problems related to specimen collection, processing, or testing performance.
Validate and correlate test results; identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective actions.
Perform advanced and complex laboratory procedures and assess deviations from expected results using scientific reasoning.
Participate in quality improvement activities using statistical principles and continuous performance evaluation.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, answering inquiries regarding test methodologies and results.
Support ongoing education, consultation, and teamwork within the laboratory and broader healthcare environment.
Workplace Expectations:
Maintain all quality and productivity standards as defined by the Laboratory Director or designee.
A one-week notice will be provided for any schedule changes.
Planned leave of fewer than 3 days requires a 2-week notice; leave of 2 weeks or more requires a 3-month notice to ensure continuity of patient care.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Laboratory Director or management team.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT).
Proven knowledge of clinical laboratory sciences, including laboratory theory, testing principles, and instrumentation.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to work independently.
Familiarity with CLIA regulations and laboratory best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
