Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist PRN

Day Shift

Are you looking for a rewarding career with family-friendly hours and top-notch benefits? We are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our Texas Health family.

Position Highlights:
  • Work location: 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76104
  • Work hours: PRN; 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Mon-Fri including rotating weekends and holidays

Qualifications:
MLT Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree required within 3 months of hire; preferred in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or related sciences
  • Equivalent education: at least 60 hours in laboratory science or medical technology, including specific science and chemistry coursework
MLS Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required within 3 months of hire; preferred in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or related sciences
  • Individuals hired as CLS II before January 3, 2010, are grandfathered in
Experience:
  • Internship in an approved Medical Technician training program required
  • 2 years’ experience preferred, especially in high-complexity Microbiology labs
Licenses and Certifications:
  • MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) required within 6 months of hire
  • Other licenses (AMT, AAB, HHS, etc.) may be acceptable
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication in English
  • Problem-solving and time management skills
  • Organizational skills for fast-paced environments
  • Computer literacy
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure specimen integrity and proper processing
  • Facilitate workflow and troubleshoot issues
  • Participate in orientation, training, and continuing education
  • Follow established test procedures and document results
  • Maintain quality control and safety standards
