Position Highlights

• Completes assigned work within required time and offers assistance to other coworkers.
• Uses laboratory equipment (computer, instruments, etc.) for hospital use only.
• Maintains satisfactory time and attendance.
• Exhibits a professional appearance.
• Seeks assistance/supervision/consultation as needed and reports issues regarding patient care to supervisor.
• Interacts professionally and pleasantly with all encountered, promoting customer satisfaction.
• Adheres to the THR Promise Behaviors.

Test Procedures

• Follows established laboratory test procedures, including proper computer protocol.
• Evaluates and reports test results.
• Communicates and documents relevant patient data to appropriate personnel.
• Relays information to next shift and coworkers (e.g., instrument malfunctions, unusual patient results, testing problems).
• Provides guidance to technical staff and laboratory support personnel.

Quality Control/Documentation

• Understands and follows quality control guidelines.
• Addresses quality control issues before releasing patient results.
• Documents and reviews QC, taking corrective actions when necessary.
• Performs and documents equipment maintenance protocols timely.
• Troubleshoots equipment issues as needed.
• Follows protocols for proficiency testing.

Safety

• Implements safety and infection control measures.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines.
• Adheres to hospital and lab safety policies.
• Participates in safety drills.
• Uses event reporting tools for documenting patient situations, injuries, or equipment malfunctions.
