Position Highlights
- Completes assigned work within required time and offers assistance to other coworkers.
- Uses laboratory equipment (computer, instruments, etc.) for hospital use only.
- Maintains satisfactory time and attendance.
- Exhibits a professional appearance.
- Seeks assistance/supervision/consultation as needed and reports issues regarding patient care to supervisor.
- Interacts professionally and pleasantly with all encountered, promoting customer satisfaction.

Test Procedures
- Follows established laboratory test procedures, including proper computer protocol.
- Evaluates and reports test results.
- Communicates and documents relevant patient data to appropriate personnel.
- Relays information to next shift and coworkers (e.g., instrument malfunctions, unusual patient results, testing problems).
- Provides guidance to technical staff and laboratory support personnel.
Quality Control/Documentation
- Understands and follows quality control guidelines.
- Addresses quality control issues before releasing patient results.
- Documents and reviews QC, taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Performs and documents equipment maintenance protocols timely.
- Troubleshoots equipment issues as needed.
- Follows protocols for proficiency testing.
Safety
- Implements safety and infection control measures.
- Follows HIPAA guidelines.
- Adheres to hospital and lab safety policies.
- Participates in safety drills.
- Uses event reporting tools for documenting patient situations, injuries, or equipment malfunctions.
