Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for the First Shift in our hospital laboratory. The role involves performing automated and manual testing across multiple departments, maintaining instrument calibration, and ensuring QC standards are met.

Candidate must hold an Associate degree in clinical laboratory science and MLT certification or state licensure, with 18 months hospital lab experience or six months in a Valley Health facility. Phlebotomy proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform diagnostic testing and quality control.
• Demonstrates care for patients across all age groups (neonatal to geriatric).
• Proficient in phlebotomy (if applicable) and instrument maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform automated and manual testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology and Serology.
• Interpret calibrations and QC results; maintain instrument function.
• Prioritize workload and maintain professionalism under stress.
• Interact with patients and healthcare teams to provide high-quality laboratory services.
