Job summary
Indiana University Health, Indiana's largest health system, seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician at IUHMG M-Pathology Lab in Indianapolis. You will assist with patient specimen testing, follow SOPs, and help maintain quality records while supporting diagnosis and treatment decisions.
Responsibilities include operating hematology and chemistry analyzers (Sysmex, Cobas), and troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related science required; certification not required.
- Associate degree in an approved MLT program or Medical Laboratory Specialist certification required or pursued.
- Certification within 12 months of employment if Associate degree.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Ability to maintain quality control and records; proficient with computers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with laboratory testing on patient specimens.
- Maintain performance records and generate test results.
- Follow SOPs and assist with procedure development or modification.
- Operate hematology (Sysmex) and chemistry (Cobas) analyzers; troubleshoot as needed.
- Work as a single tech with minimal supervision; phlebotomy is a plus.
