Job summary

Essentia Health’s St. Marys Medical Center in Duluth seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician for the Send Out Department.

The role involves specimen processing, testing coordination, result handling, and performing tests across complexity levels per CLIA for patients of all ages. The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or meets CLIA guidelines, with ASCP (or equivalent) certification within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or meets CLIA guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing for alternative route.
• Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the ASCP or equivalent within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support specimen processing, testing coordination, result handling in the Send Out Department.
• Perform and report tests of all complexity levels per CLIA for patients of all ages.
• Contribute to Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Phlebotomy and customer service duties as needed.
