Job summary

UW Health SwedishAmerican in Belvidere, IL is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for a 90% FTE schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 pm–7:30 am, with rotating weekends and holidays. The role supports the hospital's laboratory operations at 1625 S State St.

The candidate should have an Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical technology and ASCP certification is preferred. One year of relevant experience is favored.

Job description

Work Schedule

90% FTE, 3 12‑hour shifts per week: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am, rotating weekends and holidays. Work location: UW Health Belvidere Hospital, 1625 S State St.

Compensation

Additional components of compensation include shift differentials: $3.50 /hr evening, $4.50 /hr night, and $3.75 /hr weekend shift differential as applicable. Overtime and on‑call pay may also be included.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical technology. (Required)
• Copy of high‑school diploma or equivalent, or highest level of completed degree obtained. (Required)

Work Experience

• One year experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience. (Preferred)

Licenses & Certifications

• Medical Laboratory Technician certification by the Board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or similar agency. (Preferred)
