Fairview is looking for a Full Time Medical Laboratory Technician for the Northeast Clinic Laboratories (1.0 FTE or 80 hours/2 week pay period). Primary site isM Health Fairview Clinic - Vadnais Heights with a weekend shift at an Urgent Care site, as well as the possibility of cross training at additional clinic sites includingM Health Fairview Clinic - Hugo, M Health Fairview Clinic - Blaine, and M Health Fairview Clinic - Stillwater. Shifts are 8 hours in length and will primarily be the closing shift: Monday-Thursday 9:45am to 6:15pm, Friday 8:45am to 5:15. Shift may vary based on business needs, with the latest ending time of 6:15pm. Weekend hours will be one day (Saturday or Sunday) scheduled every 5-6 weeks at an Urgent Care location.
Staff that travel between clinics are compensated with mileage reimbursement, as well as additional float pay when travelling to applicable locations.
The MLT plays an important role in providing quality, proficient and professional laboratory services to diverse populations within an ambulatory healthcare environment. The Medical Laboratory Technician performs waived, moderate, or high complexity testing, correlates data-based knowledge of technical and instrumental conditions affecting testing results and performs quality control procedures within established parameters. This position also may be involved in laboratory specimen collection, safe and secure specimen handling, ensuring efficient workflow and may schedule tests and provides results as appropriate. The MLT works independently under general supervision.
Job Expectations: follow established guidelines to obtain specimens, perform testing and report results, consistently implement and adhere to the laboratory customer service standards. The standards include promoting teamwork, successful communication, and conflict resolution, supports and adheres to laboratory SOPs, quality assurance, performance improvement and compliance programs recognizing trends and identifying when additional reporting, communication or other action is appropriate. Demonstrates competency and compliance with all regulatory agency policies.
