Location: Mt Vernon , IN

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6a - 4p

Hourly Rate:$26.50/hour + full benefits within 30 days

This is a non-exempt role paying $26.50/hour and can adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level. This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.

Position Overview:

You’ll be working closely with laboratory equipment, reagents, and biological samples to perform and support routine and advanced lab procedures. A strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reagents and assemble laboratory equipment for a variety of study protocols.

  • Perform both routine and complex lab procedures with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain clear and accurate records of tests, procedures, and results.

  • Assist with evaluating instrument performance and qualifying new equipment or reagents.

  • Cross-train in other departments (e.g., analytical chemistry) as needed.

  • Participate in internal training programs and support company initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications:

  • MLT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification preferred; new graduates from accredited MLT or MLS programs are encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Capable of understanding and following written and verbal instructions.

  • Comfortable working in a standing position for extended periods.

  • Manual dexterity to operate lab equipment and perform fine motor tasks.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 5 feet.

  • Experience reading lab protocols and interpreting test results and reagent specifications.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to laboratory hazards including solvents, acids, bases, biohazards, and animal dander.

  • Use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, masks, and safety glasses is required.

  • A Mantoux TB test (with negative result) or chest X-ray is required for employment.

  • Noise levels are generally moderate.

Tools & Software Used:

  • Standard laboratory instrumentation and tools.

  • Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) on a Windows platform.
