Fairview is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technician (Lab MLT) at M Health Fairview Clinic - Brooklyn Park. This position is for a 0.8 FTE, 64 hours per pay period. The primary location is Brooklyn Park, with cross-training at M Health Fairview Bass Lake and Elk River. The primary hours are 8:30am-5:00pm, with occasional start times from 6:30am to 12:00pm. The shifts are 8 hours long, including one weekend shift (Saturday) at an Urgent Care site, rotating approximately every 7th weekend. Schedule may change to meet staffing needs, including floating to nearby clinics.

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) plays a vital role in delivering quality, proficient, and professional laboratory services to diverse populations within an ambulatory healthcare setting. Responsibilities include performing waived or moderate complexity testing following SOPs, analyzing data, performing quality control, specimen collection, handling, and scheduling tests, all while working independently under general supervision.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate or higher degree from an accredited college/university in a related laboratory field, including lab practicum or equivalent, qualifying as moderate complexity testing personnel per CLIA’ 88.
  • Degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution (Diploma or transcript required).
  • Or A.A./A.S. degree or 60 semester hours with 6 hours in biology and 6 in chemistry (Transcript required).
  • Or a combination of education and experience, including completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course plus the above academic qualifications.

Certification from HHS-approved agencies such as ASCP, AAB, or AMT is required; if not certified at hire, must obtain within 12 months. Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) must be obtained within 90 days.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician in healthcare settings.
