Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, Alabama seeks a qualified MLT/MT to perform entry of laboratory orders and oversee maintenance/calibrations/quality control across blood bank, chemistry, hematology, coag/UA, and serology.

Ideal candidate will have strong communication, teamwork, and meticulous record-keeping, plus proficiency with CLIA-waived to high-complexity procedures and basic computer equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Minimum of 1 year of lab experience.
• Must possess excellent pipetting skills (single and multi-channel).
• Ability to organize workflow and coordinate with other team members.
• Ability to maintain accurate records. Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A Little About The Job

• The MLT/MT is responsible for computer entry of laboratory orders, and performance of maintenance/calibrations/quality control of laboratory tests in the areas of blood bank, chemistry, hematology, coag/UA, and serology.
• The applicant must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a knowledge and experience in performance of CLIA waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory procedures.

Qualifications For The Job

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Minimum of 1 year of lab experience required. The ideal candidate needs to be able to work as part of a team and must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess excellent pipetting skills (single and multi-channel). Ability to organize workflow and coordinate with other team members.
• Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with facility members, students, residents, staff, patients and other third parties.
• Ability to operate computer, keyboard and printer.
