Job summary

Trinity Health in Muskegon, MI seeks a MLT Registered Tech for evening shift responsibilities. You will perform diverse laboratory tests across hematology, chemistry, microbiology and blood bank, document results, and support physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

The role requires an Associates degree with lab internship and ASCP certification, with prior lab experience preferred. Excellent attention to detail and adherence to CLIA protocols are essential.

Position Purpose

Position Summary

Performs laboratory procedures according to protocols consistent with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988. Conducts a variety of chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic and diagnostic laboratory tests to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorder, bodily dysfunction and evaluation of patient response to treatment. Analyzes and documents test results and report clinical findings. Performs incidental specimen procurement, preparation and processing. Performs tests in the sections of Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Blood Bank.

What MLT Registered Tech Will Do

• Receives specimens, clarifies test requests, checks specimen integrity/labeling. Organizes, prepares and processes specimens.
• Operates, calibrates, maintains equipment and participates in quality control activities to ensure the accuracy of lab results.
• Works independently in assigned departments within the laboratory. Performs testing, evaluates results, solves problems, documents results and communicates reports as needed.
• Performs specimen collection duties.
