Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center (CVMC) is seeking an MLT to support a broad range of laboratory tests including allergy, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and serology. The role emphasizes accurate data entry of orders and high-quality specimen handling in a patient-centered facility.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, at least one year of lab experience, and excellent pipetting, organizational, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Minimum of 1 year of lab experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent pipetting skills (single and multi-channel) and ability to organize workflow.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, the MLT is responsible for computer entry of laboratory orders and performance of laboratory tests in the areas of allergy, celiac, chemistry, endocrinology, hematology, microbiology, molecular biology, urine chemistry and serology.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with facility members, students, residents, staff, patients and other third parties.

• Under general supervision, the MLT is responsible for computer entry of laboratory orders, and performance of laboratory tests in the areas of allergy, celiac, chemistry, endocrinology, hematology, microbiology, molecular biology, urine chemistry and serology.
• The applicant must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a knowledge and experience in performance of CLIA waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory procedures.
