Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center in Alabama is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our patient-focused lab team. You will perform tests in chemistry, hematology and serology, and enter orders in our LIS with accuracy and speed.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, at least one year of lab experience, and strong teamwork, communication and pipetting skills. We value reliability and meticulous record keeping.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Minimum of 1 year of lab experience required.
• Must possess excellent pipetting skills (single and multi-channel).
• Ability to organize workflow and coordinate with other team members.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with facility members, students, residents, staff, patients and other third parties.
• Ability to operate computer, keyboard and printer.

• The MLT is responsible for computer entry of laboratory orders, and performance of laboratory tests in the areas of chemistry, hematology, and serology.
• The applicant must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a knowledge and experience in performance of CLIA waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory procedures.
