Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician II for a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The role involves performing routine and some high-complexity tests with supervision across instrumentation, following SOPs and QC requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years high complexity testing in clinical laboratory experience for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 published in March 14, 1990.
Three (3) to six (6) years high complexity testing in clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with SOPs ensuring QC requirements are met.
May perform some moderate/high-complexity testing with specific on-site training and oversight.
Adhere to laboratory policies for specimen handling, processing, test analysis and record-keeping of patient results.
Maintain turnaround times including STATS or critical results to clients.
Document QC analysis and instrument function; inform supervision of testing issues.
Review and enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for standardized reports.
