Job summary

Franklin County Medical Center seeks an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform essential testing, quality control, and reporting in a 24/7 critical access hospital setting. You will collect, prepare, and analyze patient specimens, while maintaining equipment and ensuring accuracy of results.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in MLS/CLS, ASCP certification within six months, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science, MLS or CLS required or equivalent.
Certification with the American Society for Clinical Pathology within six months of employment.
Solid knowledge of human physiology, phlebotomy, and general laboratory skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work with patients, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities

Perform collection, preparation, and analysis of patient tests.
Evaluate test results for accuracy and report findings to appropriate personnel.
Maintain laboratory equipment and perform daily maintenance.
Ensure quality control and instrument calibration.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Support laboratory operations during on-call coverage and emergencies.
