Job summary

Providence Centralia Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform bench duties across Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and LIS, planning and evaluating tests and communicating results to physicians. This role requires MLS-level education with clinical rotation or equivalent, and at least 1 year of moderate/high complexity testing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science with clinical rotation.
• Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited MLS program.
• Bachelor's Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours including chemistry/biology and 12 semester/18 quarter hours plus 3 months full-time clinical experience in all lab areas.

• The position is responsible for professional Medical Laboratory Scientist bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s).
• The position performs routine and complex tests or analyses in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS and Lean.
• The position has responsibility for planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations.

The position has responsibility for planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations. Bachelor's degree level position with applicants who obtained education outside of the United States must have their education evaluated for equivalency by an Acceptable Evaluation Agency for Foreign Transcripts.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college/university that included clinical rotation or

• Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or

• Bachelor's Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas.

• Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists or

• Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology or
