Job summary

Powers-Health in East Chicago, IN seeks a Part-time Medical Technologist. This evening shift role is 0.1 FTE with 8-hour shifts and rotating weekends/holidays. You will perform complex lab procedures and ensure accurate test results to support patient care.

Qualifications

• BS/BA and graduation from an approved MT School with MT certification.
• Certification within 1 year of hire.

Position Summary

Performs all moderate and highly complex clinical procedures utilizing sophisticated instrumentation to obtain accurate laboratory test results for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Analyzes and documents a variety of microscopic, bacteriologic, immunohematologic and/or chemical diagnostic laboratory tests; conducts advanced tests. Medical Technologist is expected to perform the duties of a Medical Laboratory Technician and a Laboratory Technologist, in addition to the expectations as a Medical Technologist. Duties are performed under the supervision of a Senior Technologist, Laboratory Supervisor/General Specialist, or Laboratory Site Director

Education/Experience

• BS/BA and graduation from an approved MT School. MT (ASCP)/NCA or equivalent certification.
