• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, chemistry, or related biological science field.
• MLS certification within 18 months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by chemical analyses.
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopy.
• Prepares blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by performing transfusion compatibility tests.
• Processes, reads, and reports cultures and antibiotic sensitivities.
• Maintains operation and calibration of analyzers and related equipment; performs preventive maintenance.
