Texas Health Plano is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist – Laboratory to join our team. You will evaluate and process specimens, uphold specimen integrity, and support timely patient care in a busy hospital laboratory.

Evenings schedule, full-time, M-F 3pm–11:30pm with occasional weekends; requires internship and MT/MLS licensure; Plano, TX. Opportunities for growth and collaboration within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant laboratory science field.
• Internship in MT training program is required.
• Licensure or eligibility for MT/MLS certification upon hire.

Responsabilités

• Evaluating and solving problems related to collection and/or processing of specimens, maintaining specimen integrity throughout the testing process
• Facilitates workflow process
• Checks outstanding tests list in a timely manner
• Troubleshoots and follows through on outstanding tests which appear to have not been collected/received when expected
• Knows and uses computer downtime procedures as needed when computer is not available
• Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care

Formation

Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred

Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program required

Two years’ experience in a Medical Laboratory preferred

Licensed MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or other listed licenses Upon Hire required

Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred
• Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program required
• Two years’ experience in a Medical Laboratory preferred
• Licensed MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist 90 Days required or MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist 90 Days required or other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology Upon Hire required or M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology Upon Hire required or BB (ASCP) - Blood Banking if working in Blood Bank Upon Hire required
