JOB SUMMARY

Sign On Bonus: $5,000.00 (New Hires Only)

Location: BSWH Medical Center Irving, TX

Department: Lab

Shift: Night (7on/7off), 9:00 pm - 7:30 am

Preferred Experience: Must be ASCP certified or equivalent. At least 1 year of leadership experience and 3 years of MLS experience required.

The Med Lab Scientist 3 performs and monitors a full range of laboratory testing and studies. Assists with supervision of laboratory operations. Responsible for problem resolution, quality control, and equipment maintenance with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

1. Performs laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and regulatory requirements.
2. Follows quality control, assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
3. Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting.
4. Accurately reports test results.
5. Maintains inventory of supplies.
6. Maintains effective communication with laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
7. Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
8. Demonstrates and educates others on laboratory beliefs and technical skills.
