Job summary

Ashtabula Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform specimen processing, testing, and reporting across clinical departments. The role emphasizes QC/QA and preventive maintenance in line with laboratory protocols, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Required include an associate degree with a two-year MLS program, CLIA high-complexity qualification readiness, and one year in a clinical lab. OSHA knowledge and LIS familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree; completion of a two-year post high school program in Medical Laboratory Scientist.
• Meets CLIA guidelines for performing high complexity testing.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations as it applies to the clinical laboratory.
• Knowledge of patient age specific criteria for laboratory testing.
• One year experience in a clinical laboratory; experience with automated/semi-automated instrumentation and manual procedures.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory specimen processing, test performance and result reporting in the clinical departments of the laboratory.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance and preventive maintenance according to laboratory protocols.
• Strives to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction through activities and interaction with customers.
