Responsibilities

• Performs superior quality specimen processing, evaluation and results reporting.
• Independently performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Interprets patient results and appropriately reports critical values including documentation of provider notification.
• Perform and evaluate QC with necessary corrective action taken and noted.
• Responsible for thorough knowledge of instrument calibration, linearity, correlations, and other essential quality functions.
• Follows universal precautions when handling specimens.
• Ability to assist with coverage for alternate shifts when needed.
• Practices positive teamwork and maintains cooperative and respectful relationships with staff.
• Maintains excellent technical knowledge regarding area of responsibility.
• May be required to train/mentor new staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
