Qualifications

• Degree requirements depending on level: MLS I or MLS II.
• No prior professional laboratory experience required for MLS I.
• Licensure/certification requirements differ by degree level (MT/MLS or MLT variants).
• Experience expectations vary by level from none to two years.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived/point of care, moderate, and high complexity CLIA testing as appropriate.
• Investigate and resolve equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow issues.
• Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and monitor testing accuracy.
• Prepare reagents and assist in standard/control material prep.
• Monitor reagent inventory and maintain laboratory supplies.
• Review results for accurate reporting and timely corrections.
• Report laboratory results and consult with healthcare providers as needed.
• Participate in education and training of new staff and learners.
• Serve as a technical resource and work under direction or independently.

Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science
