Job summary

Qualifications

• Education requirements depend on MLS I or MLS II level.
• MLS II requires categorical or MT/MLS certification depending on degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived/POC, moderate, and high complexity CLIA testing as appropriate to role.
• Investigates and resolves problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, and monitors accuracy and precision of laboratory testing.
• Prepares reagents and assists in preparation of standard and control materials.
• Monitors reagent inventory and assists with supplies.
• Reviews test results for accuracy and timely correction of errors.
• Reports laboratory results and consults with healthcare providers as needed.
• Participates in education and training of new employees and learners.
• Serves as a technical resource and works under direction or independently.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
