Job summary

The General Hospital Corporation Mass General Brigham is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I (MLS I) to perform testing and reporting for waived and non-waived assays. Under supervision, you will handle specimen processing, run tests, and ensure accurate results in a fast-paced lab environment.

A starting rate of $33/hour with a $10,000 sign-on bonus applies to eligible candidates. Shifts are Day, with 40 hours weekly at 80 Blossom Street in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level degree in a laboratory science
• ASCP board certification preferred, eligibility required
• Lab experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
• Follow corrective action policies when test systems are outside established performance levels.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance and notify supervisors or directors as appropriate.
• Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from performance specifications.
