Job summary

Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance in Torrance, CA is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) for per-diem, 8-hour variable shifts. The CLS processes specimens, performs tests, reports results, and supports patient care with accuracy and efficiency.

You will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory, comply with CLIA and regulatory standards, and participate in supply stocking, cleaning, and area maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science required.
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required upon hire.
• At least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory.
• At least 1 year must meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Specimen processing and test performance.
• Test result reporting and documentation.

Job description

Medical Laboratory Scientist - Clinical Laboratory at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance in Torrance, CA. This position is per-diem and will work 8-hour, variable shifts.

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, test result reporting, and clerical and patient care support services. The CLS provides service in one or more sections of the laboratory with a high level of accuracy, precision and timeliness and ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Service is provided to patients of all age groups: premature infants, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young, middle and older adults. Non-technical duties include taking supply inventories, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining work area, equipment and instrumentation. The CLS provides service in a safe and professional manner and works within the established policies and procedures of the Laboratory and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
