This role involves receiving and preparing specimens according to standard protocols, performing laboratory tests and calculations to aid diagnosis and treatment, conducting quality control procedures, maintaining and calibrating equipment, performing phlebotomy as needed, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Required: Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or related sciences. A copy of transcripts is required.
Required: None.
Required: Current license in the state of practice (if applicable). Certification from ASCP, AMT, or AAB as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist is required. Incumbents certified by ASCP on or after January 1, 2004, must complete the ASCP Certification Maintenance Program.

Physical requirements include exerting force, standing, sitting, reaching, and working with potentially hazardous materials. Flexibility in work schedule is necessary, including availability for 24/7 shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call. Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials is possible.
