Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs tests on samples of blood, urine and other body fluids to obtain information used in diagnosis and evaluation of patient medical status. The MLT participates in performance improvement activities to ensure continuous quality improvement, maintains appropriate awareness with patients and visitors, and promotes a supportive, teamwork‑oriented environment. Responsibilities include fulfilling departmental duties in line with the long‑range plan, mission, vision and values of Centennial Medical Center.

Must qualify by one of the following:

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Completion of a medical laboratory military course of at least 50 weeks and having held the position of Medical Laboratory Specialist
• Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES or the CAAHEP with at least 3 months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high‑complexity testing
• Documentation that the individual was qualified and serving as a high‑complexity testing personnel in a CLIA‑certified laboratory as of December 28th 2024, and has done so continuously since that date, with education or experience on file with the Laboratory and uploaded into GHR
