Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other bodily fluids to support patient diagnosis and evaluation. The role includes:

• Handling specimen processing and pre‑analytic inspection.
• Performing various laboratory tests, evaluating results, and entering/re‑verifying data in the Laboratory Information System.
• Conducting periodic quality control per policy and procedure.
• Evaluating new or modified procedures, reagents, and instruments as directed by the Section Coordinator.
• Troubleshooting instruments.
• Participating in hospital initiatives and supporting department goals set by the Laboratory Director and Manager.

Qualifications

• Associate degree; graduate of a NCCLS accredited Medical Technician program.
• Hospital laboratory experience preferred.
