Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health is hiring for a Medical Laboratory role where you will utilize laboratory skills to perform and report results for clearly defined procedures. You will be responsible for assigned shifts, with overtime and callbacks as required, and you will participate in ongoing quality control and safety practices.

Responsibilities include specimen accessioning, performing procedures, evaluating results, and ensuring regulatory standards are met.

Qualifications

• Clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Full certification must be obtained within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing.
• Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing and routine instrument maintenance and inventory control and document as required.
• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical error and/or adverse patient outcomes.
• Assesses, evaluates and draws appropriate conclusions.
• Follows regulatory requirements, competency requirements and maintains safe laboratory practice.
• Completes assigned goals.
