Job summary

Baptist Laboratory is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform clearly defined procedures and report results, with shift responsibilities and potential overtime.

You will receive, identify, organize, and prioritize specimens, perform laboratory procedures, QC, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and ensure accurate patient identification while supporting lifelong learning and completing assigned goals.

Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy.
• No experience necessary, but must have completed accredited MLT program.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing.
• Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing and routine instrument maintenance and inventory control.
• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post‑analytic error and/or adverse patient outcomes.
• Supports lifelong learning.
• Completes assigned goals.
