Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking a Laboratory professional to utilize laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The role covers assigned shifts with potential overtime and callbacks.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, national certification, and ASCP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Technology (MT) from an accredited institution program.
• National certification in concordance with current Federal and/or State Regulations.
• ASCP preferred.
• Clinical Laboratory Experience

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimen to ensure accurate and timely test processing.
• Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance and inventory control.
• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical error and/or adverse patient outcomes.
• Supports life long learning.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Provide instruction for personnel and medical technology students, as required.
