Henry Ford Hospital – Detroit Main Campus is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform select procedures on blood and body fluids under supervision. You may perform phlebotomy and operate a variety of instruments while following defined protocols.

Required education includes an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent, with MLT certification preferred. Department: Pathology-Troy; Shift: Day Job; Join a renowned academic health system in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
• MLT certification from ASCP or NCA preferred or complete military technician program meeting CLIA requirements.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree with courses in Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Performs select chemical, cytologic, hematologic, microbiologic, and specimen collection procedures.
• Operates instruments and reviews quality control checks; flags implausible results or equipment issues.
• Performs preventive maintenance, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
