Job summary

Salina Regional Health Center, Inc. is seeking a medical lab technician to perform laboratory tests and procedures for diagnosis and treatment. The technician will be responsible for the orderly processing of patient specimens and will maintain strong communication with clinic staff.

The ideal candidate must hold an associate’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field, and have completed an MLT approved clinical internship. This position operates on a PRN basis during day shifts.

Job description

The medical lab technician performs a variety of laboratory tests, procedures and related duties to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease, following established standards and practices. This role includes issue resolution in the pre‑analytical, analytical, and post‑analytical phases. The technician is responsible for the orderly processing of patient specimens during the assigned shift, covering specimen collection, testing, processing, and accurate result reporting. The technologist maintains active communication and strengthens collaborative relationships among clinic medical and nursing staff and other lab personnel.

• Required clinical internship in an MLT approved program

Required Registration/License/Certification

• MLT (ASCP or equivalent) OR registry eligible
