Buchanan County Health Center seeks a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to coordinate and perform a wide range of laboratory tests across microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, hematology and coagulations, with some phlebotomy.
The position emphasizes accurate testing, documentation, and proficiency with LIS and automated systems to support diagnosis and treatment.
The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) coordinates and participates in a variety of complex technical tasks in the performance of laboratory tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This is a generalist position, which includes microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, hematology, coagulations, and some phlebotomy.
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology/Laboratory Science, chemical, biological or related degree or 2 year Associate’s Degree in Laboratory Science or related degree required.
Board certification (ASCP, NCA, AMT) as a MLS, MT, CLS, or MLT is required.
Basic Life Support required.
In addition to meeting the educational and/or license requirement(s) associated with this position, must be able to provide documentation (copy of transcript or diploma) to verify completion of education. At a minimum, documentation provided must be for the applicable college diploma(s) and board certifications obtained.
Demonstrated competence in the area of laboratory procedures required.
A minimum of 6 months clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
Significant skill and knowledge in Laboratory Information System (LIS) applications/automated technology is preferred.
