Medical Lab Technician/ Medical Technician- Full-Time

Job Opportunity: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) at Henderson Health Care Services

Position Overview: We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our laboratory team. This position involves performing testing in a timely manner, maintaining quality control standards, and ensuring accurate results in emergency and routine testing. The MLT will work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to all safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform testing in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining high standards in ER, timed, and STAT testing.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to set priorities and adapt to changes in work as needed.
  3. Document quality control and preventive maintenance procedures.
  4. Verify specimen identity and requisition details; investigate abnormal results.
  5. Consult with appropriate personnel regarding abnormal findings or testing difficulties.
  6. Ensure test results correlate with patient diagnoses and follow age-specific guidelines.
  7. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  8. Provide emergency laboratory call response (within 20 minutes) when on-call during weekends and holidays.
  9. Perform all work according to established policies and procedures with minimal direct supervision.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of all patient and workplace information per privacy standards.
  11. Support safety practices and departmental functions, including inventory management and supply notifications.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: Associate's degree in medical technology or related field (MLT) or Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related science (MT). Prior experience preferred.
Certifications: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification (ASCP preferred). DOT training and BLS certification recommended.
