Job summary

Freeman is seeking a Microbiologist to perform routine and advanced laboratory tests on blood and body fluids under supervision. You will ensure accuracy through stringent quality control and maintain instrument performance and records per regulatory standards.

The role includes teaching new staff and students, collecting urine drug screens, and assisting in other lab areas to ensure high-quality patient care. Eligible for full-time opportunities with Freeman perks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science (or MLT training) plus high school diploma.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
• MLT (ASCP), MLT (AMT) or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized moderate/high complexity tests on all blood and body fluid specimens.
• Ensure accurate results through strict quality control procedures.
• Conduct instrument function checks and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain records and statistics per regulatory requirements.
• Teach new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures.
• Collect chain-of-custody urine drug screens as required.
• Assist in other laboratory areas to support patient care.
