Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Microbiologist for full-time hours in Springdale. The role involves performing routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood and body fluids under supervision, ensuring accuracy through strict quality control, and conducting instrument checks and maintenance.

You will also maintain records, contribute to staff training, and assist across laboratory areas to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Official degree in laboratory science or a 50-week military medical laboratory training plus a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal certification as MLT/MLT-equivalent preferred where applicable.
• Experience in acute care settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluids under supervision.
• Ensures accurate test results by adhering to a strict quality control program.
• Performs instrument function checks and preventive maintenance per department procedures.
• Maintains records and statistics as required by regulations.
• Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures.

Education

Associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science

Military Medical Laboratory Specialist training (50 weeks)
