Gadsden Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for the full-time morning shift to support chemistry and blood bank coverage during the week, with core lab coverage every other weekend. The role involves performing moderate to high-complexity tests on blood and body fluids, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate Degree in CLS/MLT or military MLP training (50 weeks) and have 0–2 years of acute care laboratory

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate Degree in CLS/MLT or military equivalent with 50 weeks of MLP training.
• 0-2 years of acute care laboratory experience preferred.
• Certification/licensure as MLT and state license where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity tests on blood and body fluids.
• Adhere to quality control protocols and document results accurately.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments, perform preventive maintenance.
• Utilize LIS for data entry and test reporting.
• Collect and process urine drug screens with chain-of-custody as needed.
• Ensure safety with PPE and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with phlebotomy and team-based departmental tasks.
• Maintain accurate records and departmental statistics.
