Job summary

Memorial Hospital at Gulfport is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for the Stone County Campus to perform routine testing across toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology to support clinical teams in diagnosis and treatment.

The position requires an NAACLS-accredited MLT education, ASCP certification, and the ability to obtain certification within three months of hire. Day shift, full-time role emphasizing accuracy, quality control, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree; NAACLS accredited Medical Lab Technician (MLT) program, or equivalent military training.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the ASCP, or equivalent certification.
• Certification is required upon hire or must be obtained within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory procedures to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Performs diagnostic and serological testing as requested for interpretation or intervention.
• Maintains quality control and accurate record keeping for specimens.
• Communicates test results to health care providers and documents in the electronic health record.
