Job Overview

The Medical Technician, MLT, CLT is responsible for performing laboratory procedures across at least three functional sections of the clinical laboratory, including Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Immunology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, and Microbiology, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

The technician maintains laboratory instruments, performs Quality Control procedures, calibrations, and reviews data to ensure accuracy. Additional duties may include teaching, purchasing, inventory management, and writing procedures, depending on area expertise.

Qualifications

Certifications such as MLT (ASCP), MLT (AAB), MLT (AMT), or CLT are required.
