This role involves performing routine patient testing and supporting clinical activities at UNCHCS.

Work Hours: Friday/Saturday/Sunday 12-hour shifts or Saturday/Sunday/Monday 12-hour shifts from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Responsibilities

1. Instruct patients on test preparation, including fasting requirements, and answer related questions.
2. Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot issues.
3. Assist in teaching Clinical Laboratory Science students, residents, and new employees.
4. Monitor daily laboratory operations.
5. Perform routine and standardized tests, prepare specimens, and resolve specimen issues.
6. Prepare reagents and standard/control materials, monitor reagent levels, and maintain supplies.
7. Record test results, maintain accurate records, and report deviations to supervisors or physicians.

Additional Information

Education Requirements: Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemical Science, or Biological Science.

Licensure/Certification: Must be eligible for ASCP or AMT certification and obtain certification within one year if applicable.
