Job summary

Prairie Band, LLC seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support Rosebud Comprehensive Health Care Facility and IHS, in a rural hospital setting. The role spans inpatient and outpatient lab services, with phlebotomy duties as needed, and requires proficiency with laboratory analyzers and EHR systems.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree in medical technology, ASCP certification, 2–3 years in a hospital lab, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical technology is required; bachelor’s preferred.
• ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years’ experience as an MLT/CLS in a hospital lab.
• Hospital experience preferred for rural care.
• US citizen required; Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Willingness to pass Federal Security Clearance; immunization records required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology; occasional phlebotomy.
• Operate laboratory analyzers, run quality controls, calibrations, and interpret complex results.
• Work in inpatient and outpatient hospital lab settings; familiarity with EHR systems preferred.

Position Overview
The MLT or CLS will provide clinical laboratory services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology, with occasional assistance in phlebotomy.

Employees should be proficient in the use of laboratory analyzers and equipment, including running quality controls, performing calibrations, and applying professional judgments when evaluating complex or non-routine laboratory results. Experience working in a hospital or primary care outpatient clinic and familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems is preferred.

• 2-3 years’ experience as a MLT or CLS in a Hospital Medical Lab

• Experience providing care to patients within a rural area
• Must be a US citizen
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Must be willing to pass Federal Security Clearance
