Job summary

Washington Regional Medical System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Tech I to perform routine testing and provide quality control in a busy clinical lab. The role partners with the Laboratory Director and Supervisors to ensure accurate reporting of results and adherence to CLIA procedures.

The position requires an Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, eligibility for national certification within one year, and roughly one year of prior lab experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Eligible to take ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification exam within one year.
• 1 year of medical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CLIA waived and non-waived testing according to approved procedures.
• Perform, verify, and report laboratory results per guidelines.
• Identify issues affecting assay performance and take corrective action.
• Perform analyzer maintenance, calibration, and quality control.
• Document troubleshooting and related procedures.
• Assist with reagent and supplies inventory management.
• Assist with clerical and specimen processing and customer coordination.
• Test with customers to assess needs and support internal/external clients.
• Assist in validation of new equipment and training of staff.
